PromiseLand

Children’s Church of Schaumburg Community Church

Promiseland is a ministry in SCC that is dedicated to growing the Love of Christ within our children. We understand that our children are the future: Proverbs 22:6 says “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it”. We are starting from right NOW to ensure a bright future for our children.

Our teachers pray for the children in their classes, cultivate relationships with the children, thoughtfully and prayerfully plan, and implement the classroom curriculum.

Promiseland is divided into two Key Stages (1 & 2).

Vision

To create an engaging, safe, and fun environment for children to learn about and develop a relationship with Jesus.

To guide, love, teach, and care for the children in Promiseland.

Promiseland Key Stage One

6 Months - 4 Years

Key Stage One caters to children ages 6 months to 4 years. Because we know that it’s never too early to learn about God, the children at this tender age are exposed to materials that cater to the visual, audio and kinesthetic needs. Children learn that the B.I.B.L.E is the book for them, and that Jesus loves them along with many other Biblical concepts. The curriculum at this level is called Play and Worship.

In Puggles, feeding and diaper schedules are kept according to information given by parents.

Promiseland Key Stage Two

5 - 12 Years

Key Stage Two comprises four classrooms: SPARKS ages 5-6, T & T (Truth in Training) ages 7-8, TREK ages 9-10, and JOURNEY ages 9-12

Sunday curriculum is presently written in-house by the Head of Department and the Team Leads, and it is modified into Pre-Kindergarten/Kindergarten, Lower Elementary and Upper Elementary.

The message is taught by reading the Bible, dancing, acting, watching focused videos and creating crafts. We use monthly themes and the children are encouraged to learn the monthly memory verses too. Our Wednesday curriculum is called AWANA: (“Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed”) which is very interactive and hands on.

In July during Summer break, we have VBS (Vacation Bible School) curriculum themed to reflect our interactions in different part of our world.

Policies to be Mindful of

Birthday celebrations are done together on the 1st Sunday of each month. Any donations or contributions of any kind should be directed to the HOD for an effective coordination.

Any information (missing birthday, allergy alert, etc.) should be reported or updated.

Children’s full date of birth should be clarified.

Memory Verses and homework given either on a Sunday or Wednesday should be completed. Ask what was taught in class and who the teacher was.

Encourage the children to participate in Praise and Worship and Class.

Above all, please continue to pray for the Children's Church.
